Helios Hydraulics America is Hiring a Plant Controller Near Sarasota, FL

Job Summary:

The Plant Controller will be responsible for leading the operational accounting and finance functions for the Helios Hydraulics of Americas (HHAM) Sarasota location. This includes inventory and cost accounting, sales margin analysis, operational budgets, and related month-end close accounting activity. The successful Plant Controller will, in accordance with GAAP and management reporting needs, ensure delivery of accurate historical and forward-looking financial information for management decisions and support internal and external audits. This position will report to the Managing Director of Sarasota Operations (SRQ).

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervisory responsibility of cost accounting department
  • Commitment to attracting, developing, and mentoring finance staff to build their professional career and maximize potential.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide insight and analysis regarding factors influencing material margin and contribution margin, as well as gross margin and operating margin of the Sarasota operation
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business and provide analysis, reports, and presentations and to ensure efficient information and decision-making analysis
  • Provide analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational results for the manufacturing operations within SRQ and various operational cost pools
  • Responsible for supporting the SRQ leadership Team in delivering business results, providing analytical & financial insights, driving budget and forecast & management reporting processes, analysis, and standardization
  • Perform robust financial analysis and be able to succinctly outline and present key drivers, themes and key risks while applying business and financial acumen to explain underlying drivers of results across several scenarios
  • Actively maintain current tools / models and introduce new tools/models, processes and improve analysis used for executive financial deliverables
  • Active participant and teammate to SRQ Leadership Team counterparts, promoting best practices and collaboration
  • Collaborate with internal and external audit resources supporting financial and SOX audits within the Sarasota operations, including management’s internal control documentation and testing
  • Monitor financial activities to ensure compliance with all regulations and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Assist in establishing and monitoring financial goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures for the SRQ operation
  • Motivate teams to produce quality deliverables within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
  • Other special projects and responsibilities as needed

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to work closely with a senior management team


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • 8 years proven accounting experience in manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP)
  • 3 years’ experience in an accounting supervisory role
  • Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time


Travel Requirements:

This position may require travel domestically which should be less than 10% of total time during the course of a year
